Enabling women from marginalised communities to access learning opportunities for empowerment lies at the heart of Nirantar’s mandate. We conduct workshops, trainings and courses on issues related to education, literacy, gender, sexuality, ICTs (Information Communication Technologies) and rural journalism. These inputs cover a range of participants, including staff members of community-based organisations and government programmes, teachers, teacher educators as well as women and adolescent girls from marginalised communities. The design and content of these inputs are rooted in the lives and contexts of women and girls from marginalised communities as well as interactive, feminist educational pedagogy. With selected organisations with whom Nirantar enters into partnership, the capacity building involves intensive support in the form of a series of trainings, inputs designed specifically for particular organisations as well as field visits to the organisations. We list below trainings offered by Nirantar and then list trainings which organisations can ask Nirantar to conduct for their staff members.
Nirantar also conducts reviews and evaluations of programmes working on issues of gender, education, sexuality, adolescence education, life skills and ICTs.
