Sexuality Education |
Nirantar’s sexuality education initiative seeks to strengthen perspectives on issues of sexuality of members of NGOs and other activists working at the community level, through materials and workshops. The initiative seeks to move beyond the focus on sexual violence, and build an understanding of the role of sexuality in both maintaining and challenging power relations related to gender, caste, religion etc. |
|
It addresses more positive aspects such as those related to pleasure, and also attempts to demonstrate linkages sexuality and other aspects of rights such as those related to health, education or livelihoods. The initiative will also seek to address aspects of sexuality that have so far been marginalised – such as those related to sexual orientation, sex work, disability etc as well as the issue of gender transgression. |
