Position: Writer and Editor for online think tank on gender, education, sexuality, youth, and politics
Nirantar works towards enabling empowering education, especially for those from marginalized communities. We seek to promote transformatory formal and non-formal learning processes which enable the marginalized to better understand and address their realities. Our focus on gender interlinks strongly with other social dimensions, in particular those of caste, sexuality and religion. Nirantar promotes access to information, literacy, and perspective and skill building through interactive trainings and educational resources that are simple but not simplistic. Nirantar also works at the community level and undertakes research and advocacy, particularly on critical issues which need greater attention from the State as well as civil society.
Nirantar, Centre for Gender and Education is looking for a writer and editor for its new online think tank on gender, education, sexuality, youth, and politics. The candidate has to display critical thinking, carry a deep interest in research and development of feminist perspectives, be passionate about storytelling, and have the ability to work with Hindi and English archival material and make it talk to contemporary thought movements.
The think tank will be based out of New Delhi, India, but will grow to include ideas, knowledge banks, practice-based approaches and stories from South East Asia, making it one of the most comprehensive online think tanks on gender and education in the world. The candidate will have the opportunity to create, and help grow, a unique, dynamic web space and build national and international networks across the feminist education sites.
